We must assume in the interim that certain enterprising stand users have tried to find a way to connect Victor back to the Nothing Man, because initial attempts at contact got him told in no uncertain terms, That Man's daughter can't really be trusted. Their reasons have little to do with brainwashing or whatever it was that's been done to her, but it really does end up for the best, both for any of Victor's plans and for Devi and her growing collection of Hamon users.

That said, this means that days that involve the Nothing Men are days where Riku's left to her own devices. And apparently someone got upset that she wasn't finding anything juicy lately, because while she can be found wandering down the shopping districts she's...really obviously not all there. Bad enough that she's bumping into people. Bad enough she might accidentally step into traffic while she's looking for...whatever it is she's supposed to find. The instructions weren't specific enough. Or maybe her father just wants her death to look plausibly like an accident, who knows?
