[...Really, I just had this idea first.

Which is to say; about 4 in the morning, a certain evening, there was an ungodly alarmed shriek from one of the princesses' rooms. She refused to admit the guards when they inquired as to what it was, and jokes have circulated about spiders.

...but now it's 11:30 and Renee, usually incredibly punctual about her work, even if she is a pain in the ass, is nowhere to be found and the guard have all been dismissed from the apartments she lives in...this seems like a problem. It's also not something a chancellor is meant to be poking at but, literally when has any victor ever cared about his actual place in the social strata?

[Right, so. Final boss fight. Dramatic showdown. The artificial user facility ends up destroyed by Kohane and most of the experimental users freed to roam about in something that won't haunt anyone in like ten years, there was an epic battle with some of the users that Riku's dad kept under his thumb, lots of shit got destroyed, a no-shit vampire showed up and Liam ate it, shit got pretty crazy.

At the end of all things, though, Riku herself stopped time at just the right moment...to shoot her father full of holes.

Even a man like him can't get back up from that.

So here in the aftermath, she's just...kind of surveying the ruins. Most of the rest of the survivors have cleared out to mop up or rest. She's just...contemplating her life and where it goes now. And the ramifications of patricide. Shit like that. Come bug her, scruffy.]

Which is to say, things got insane during the storm. Like, literally--the storm isn't calming down as the one a couple towns over has, it's only getting worse, and as it does, powers are starting to go haywire. sure, a certain idiot and her boyfriend and her boyfriends new and powerful friends are working on something to solve it, but for that to work, well, they'd have to not get caught up in this themselves.

Which brings us to Riku, and Cyclone Effect. See, she'd seemed totally unaffected to most everyone else, except for the fact that for that last twenty minutes she's been just resting her head on a table in Devi's cafe, because after a while we just assume everyone ended up in there. It'd be reasonable to assume, even, that someone told her Ken exists and is here and alive, and that's why she has her head firmly attached to the table.

For poor Victor, he will be aware this is not the case, because she's been looping constantly for the last twenty minutes. It's not a single continuous loop, either, no, it's rewound and then started and rewound again, along with several other...odd glitches in time she's never been able to cause before.

Devi left to go throw up after about five minutes. What are you going to do, sir.]

tonight is the night

[So. We must assume in the interim that certain enterprising stand users have tried to find a way to connect Victor back to the Nothing Man, because initial attempts at contact got him told in no uncertain terms, That Man's daughter can't really be trusted. Their reasons have little to do with brainwashing or whatever it was that's been done to her, but it really does end up for the best, both for any of Victor's plans and for Devi and her growing collection of Hamon users.

That said, this means that days that involve the Nothing Men are days where Riku's left to her own devices. And apparently someone got upset that she wasn't finding anything juicy lately, because while she can be found wandering down the shopping districts she's...really obviously not all there. Bad enough that she's bumping into people. Bad enough she might accidentally step into traffic while she's looking for...whatever it is she's supposed to find. The instructions weren't specific enough. Or maybe her father just wants her death to look plausibly like an accident, who knows?

It hasn't been tested if whatever her father does can be broken by Victor's stand. He...might wanna find out now.]

[Hey, guess who isn't getting herself in trouble today? Yep. In an astonishing turn from the last time we checked on these idiots, Riku's actually managed not to get herself into too much trouble or at least not have to reset the timeline much. Actually, given it's been a week, maybe two, since that six week deadline shows up, she's been remarkably quiet, although knowing her she's still up to some form of terrible idea.

And then some cyclops jackass ran off with some seriously sensitive information before she could steal it, so now she's just sulking in a park, dressed...reasonably closely to a normal human being, and messing around on her phone. If someone needed to find her, or hell, happen upon her, she's not hard to find.]

[So, it's been a little time, since Riku arrived in the sleepy little town. And to her credit, while she clearly hasn't the first idea how to do espionage, she's a fast learned. Even when she isn't using Cyclone Effect to cheat. She's also been, well, finding excuses to 'pay for information' from Sigfried.

Today, though, might be alarming. There's that sickening pressure, and some fading memories that she was here this afternoon, and fairly naked. But now she's not and there's some rather frantic pounding on...her own door? Why is he in her room without her? What happened here?]

[The Setting: Something vaguely akin to Morioh and Raitou's terrifying small-town science baby. Honestly, it's a fairly idyllic little town, people spontaneously being either eaten by humanity's collected evils or spontaneously developing psychic powers aside. Sure, a decade or two back some big government corporation moved in and took over and that's when all these awful supernatural things started happening but surely that's a coincidence, right?
The Who: A strange young girl, newly arrived in town, dazed and confused and looking, well, a little bit like the pictures of the CEO of aforementioned evil corporation. I mean sure, the CEO's an ancient-looking dude and she is a twenty-something girl with the most ridiculous hair on the face of the earth, but the resemblance is still there.

[So Victor, remember the reporter you punched a few weeks back.

Well, it was supposed to be a routine day at the base today, before a panicked recruit came looking for him. And trying to shoo away anyone else.

Because it turns out there's that same reporter with a fading bruise, crying and having pissed himself, with a rapier through the wall of one of the training rooms on base less than three inches from his face.

Given the look on Riku's face, he's very lucky that sword did not connect. Or hell, he can probably hear her roaring before he gets there.]

So. Some time has passed. A very high-profile wedding may have occured. And naturally, as soon as they came back, Rikus were being promoted to higher command and more desk-y position.

And being harassed by her subordinates when there were going to be kids. So here she is, in an office, telling Lumi (via phone, naturally), very flatly that she needs to actually admit she's dating the guy she got nearly sent to jail before she gets to lecture her about kids, and because she can work from home, she is doing this in a short dress and socks, instead of uniform.

This isn't going to get embarrassing when anyone comes home, clearly.]

[It's been a couple of extremely busy and headachy weeks for Riku, involving several events. First her best friend helped one of the pilots talk to Menhit, then they got a living computer to display a terrifying amount of autonomy and personality, then the robot decided to try and throw Riku a bachelorette party with only the vaguest idea what that was.

Although, off the record, the giant robot pole dance was actually pretty hilarious.

But with certain punishments decided, Riku has decided to escape both from her office and an overzealous wedding planner trying to make certain everything fits and if she's sure she doesn't want to go with the princess look, really, they have tiaras available, and head for destinations completely mysterious.

They're certainly not involving turning up at anyone's door, or anything.]

[There's a lot of adjusting that has to happen, for someone like Riku to transition to a position that keeps her on the ground more often than not. A large part of this involves the absolute hilarity that is sending her trainees, and it doesn't take long for her to accidentally become a new kind of infamous for tearing a select few of them to shreds for joining up in some quest for glory and heroism. It's likely she only gets away with this and her continued refusal to be even a little less blunt, relationships to diplomats aside, due to just how much she's contributed on the field.

So when, at the end of a long and trying day of kicking one of them up and down the training rooms, some idiot recruit implies she's only advanced in rank because of who she's shtupping, it ends with that same someone tossed out with their newly broken nose and her casually taping ice to her hand in her office. She never did learn how to throw a punch properly.

This cannot at all be a bad time for people to come bother her.]

[Some month or two down the timestream, there has been a very bad day for just about everyone. For Riku, this consists of having to openly reveal why she knows so much about lunar dyne types, likely due to unfortunate incidents involving shanking pirates over the kind of idiot supergenius big brother who'd believe them when they said they'd help him find his little sister, because this is really about par for her life.

Either way, she's currently been quietly shuffled out of the way of people trying to get a look at her and Menhit's been hidden, so now in these quiet back rooms the PMC's shoved her in, Riku's kind of debating stealing all of the commander's liquor cabinet.

The thought 'this can't get any worse' might have occurred to her, the poor doomed fool.]

[So the coinflip rewarded my laziness! On this particular day, in the wilds of the timey-wimey ball, a Riku can be found in...whatever hangar they stick the Dynes in, since routine system checks are a thing.

...What might make a man curious is while directions to find a Riku are freely given, her Dyne's being stored in a secluded section of it, just a bit out of the way. She's just to one side of the Dyne. Also of note--she's got a call going on off her tablet. She appears to being given endless shit about her habits on arrival by some one-eyed chick.

Nobody knows the trouble I've seen

[Ahem.

So in a bar in customs, there's a girl who might have caused a bit of stir. Partly because she looks like she's been through hell, but also because the trip she was on got hit by the Birds of Carrion, and the news that one kid barely out of her teens with no military training actually won has to get around quickly in some circles.

She is either unaware or doesn't care about this, given that she is looking at that shot of whiskey as though it contains the secrets of the universe. Clearly, she needs conversation.]

[So, it is the eve of a riku having to make a decision what she's doing with her inheritance.

Naturally, this means Rikus have mysteriously vanished. She hasn't been kidnapped, however, and hunting Zhangs will find her at a beach, perched on a rock and just watching the sunset and the surf. Given how she's starting to turn a little red, she's been out here a while and neglected that sunscreen thing.]

[So, it is one of those rare days where Riku hasn't been kidnapped but Zhang is actually allowed in to whatever recording studio there is! He may even have been called there by someone up the managment chain more sympathetic than her manager.

The reason might be the fact she's sitting there, staring at a memo that appears to have been brought to her, and seems to have made her manager wait outside being stared down by some impressively imposing looking lawyers.

Lawyers who apparently deadlifted the bar exam. But this is less important. She looks white as a sheet, whatever it is.]

[The trouble with being a idol is fans. Namely, trying to go about normal errands when the creepier fans are turning up. Which is why Riku has bags of groceries and looks like she's debating shoving a pineapple up a creeper's ass right now.

Anyway, at some point in the timestream, after drunken shenanigans, and possibly on a totally different round of leave, there is someone in the law section of the library, grumbling invectives and balancing a great deal of heavy books on every part of her body she can arrange to carry them.

She'll be fine, so long as no one surprises her in a strange and hilarious turnabout.]

[It is a normal, ordinary, ~~super-duper~~ quiet kind of day. Which is why there is a girl waiting by what passes as a cafe. A girl who is dressed snazzily and looks a lot like a rather talented up-and-coming lawyer.
